Garlic-Herb Standing Rib Roast Recipe
From the kitchen of Dr. Randall Hansen What follows is a very easy recipe for making tasty garlic-herb infused beef standing rib roast. It takes about 3 hours to complete this recipe, with 15 minutes of prep time, 2 1/2 to 3 hours for roasting a medium-rare roast. (Time dependent on roast size and desired wellness.) Ingredients1 (5-6) pound standing rib roast 4-5 teaspoons of Garlic Gold (or about 2-3 cloves of garlic, roasted) 1 tablespoon -- about 4 decent stalks -- of fresh chopped rosemary 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped thyme leaves 1 Cup of red wine 1/2 Cup of beef stock, or 1 beef bullion Garlic Gold Herbs de Provence Nuggets Mrs Dash Table Blend or other salt substitute* Freshly ground pepper
* Avoid using salt, as it will make the roast much less juicy.
Directions- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Prepare large roasting pan.
- Spread Garlic Gold (or roasted garlic, with oil) over entire roast.
- Chop rosemary and thyme and spread over entire roast.
- Sprinkle and season the roast with the Nuggets, Mrs. Dash, and pepper.
- Add wine and beef stock to pan.
- Place in oven for 15-20 minutes.
- Reduce oven temperature to 325 and continue roasting for 3 hours (about 25 minutes per pound).
- If roasting vegetables with the roast, add them about an and hour and half into roasting.
- Place roast on platter, cover with foil, and let stand for about 15 minutes.
