Buttermilk Ranch Salad Dressing Recipe

What follows is a very easy recipe for making the best all-natural buttermilk ranch dressing -- with no added sugars, preservatives, or other ingredients.

It takes about 5-10 minutes to prepare and is ready for use or can be chilled for later use. I suggest placing the dressing in several mason jars and/or reuse the mayonnaise container.

This recipe makes a fairly large batch -- several mason jars worth -- so plan accordingly. For smaller amounts, simply cut the ingredient list in half.

Ingredients
  • 1 jar of 32 oz. mayonnaise (or make your own*)
  • 2 1/2 cups of buttermilk (or make your own**)
  • 3 heaping teaspoons of minced dried onion
  • 10 tablespoons of dried parsley
  • 5 teaspoons of minced garlic or Garlic Gold*** (or five small cloves of garlic, minced, with 1 tablespoon of avocado or olive oil)
  • 1 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper
  • 1+ teaspoon Mrs. Dash "Table Blend" or similar
  • 1 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt to taste
  • Directions
    Put all the ingredients in a bowl, starting with the mayonnaise and buttermilk, and blend together with a whisk. Ladle into vessels and refrigerate.

    Options
    I have started adding a few heaping tablespoons of sour cream to the dressing, which gives it some added thickness.

    I have also taken to adding a touch of hot (Tabasco) sauce, a few dashes of cayenne pepper spice mix, and green onions. The great thing about this dressing is that you can add additional spices to make it as plain or spicy as you like!

  • 6 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of seal salt (or other salt)
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 cups avocado oil (simply the best; or high-end olive oil)

  • Mix first four ingredients and then very slowly add the oil as you are blending until you get a rich and creamy blend.

  • 2 cups of whole milk, organic when possible
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly lemon juice

  • Pour lemon juice into the milk, mix, and let stand for about 10 minutes. Done.
